Content Management System – simply create websites

With the help of content management systems, millions of people have already been able to create and manage their own websites without having to write programs. Many websites were created with popular CMS like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal etc. And there is a good chance that a random website you visit nowadays is managed by such a content management system. So if you want to produce a new website, the easiest and most effective way to do so is to create it with a CMS. Nowadays the main player in the CMS world is WordPress. Of course there are other such helpful systems and they all resemble each other a little bit. CMS are used for websites on the Internet as well as for intranet platforms. You first have to look at the advantages and disadvantages to find out which system is best suited for your own purposes. All of them are unique: CMS help in a wonderful way to create websites without having to know how to program. Between creating and using a database on the web host and displaying this content with PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, content management systems do all the work. They are more or less complex and on top of that they are versatile and extensible. Basically, with a CMS you can select different themes, add plugins to extend the functionality and even change the menus. And with the created content you can do what you would normally do with a Word document and then simply click on “Publish”. So basically, a content management system makes it much easier to create a website. In a few minutes, content management systems like WordPress are set up.

The Content Management System takes care of everything

So you dont really have to worry about programming and stuff like that. Anyone can create a website with CMS without touching HTML, CSS, PHP or JavaScript. Instead, you only have to take care of the content. Just create the posts and pages, then click on “Publish” and have them displayed directly on the website. The content management system takes care of the code behind, the user only has to worry about the content. This is where the name Content Management System comes from. Many CMS have plugins that can turn the website into an online shop. So theoretically you can get an online shop up and running in less than 15 minutes. And since most content management systems are open source, you “own” the code when you download it for this CMS and you can take it with you anywhere. Content Management Systems are also always a good idea if you just started a (small) business and/or need a cheap website to make your name known. You can be sure with the big and well-known CMS that it is always user-friendly. After all, the purpose of a Content Management System is to make the administration of a website easier. So you should be able to use it in principle already after a few seen tutorial videos. It is also recommended to have a look around in the community around the Content Management System. Because almost all CMS are Open Source, which means that they are built by the community.
